About YNPCOLLECTOR STEREOVIEWS

My name is Paul Rubinstein and I founded YNPCOLLECTOR STEREOVIEWS.

My interest in stereoviews began during the mid 1990s while researching for a book I co-authored on the Waterfalls of Yellowstone National Park. At that time, I discovered that several 1880s photographers ventured deep into the Yellowstone wilderness to capture its wonders in 3-d imagery. I was fascinated by these rare images. (You can buy the book HERE)

As my interest in them grew I began buying and selling on a "new" website known as eBay. YNPCOLLECTOR (A.K.A. Yellowstone National Park Collector) became my eBay moniker in the late 1990s. To date I have completed over 10,000 individual stereoview transactions representing about 15,000 total sales of views.

With eBay's many changes of late leading to a clear decline in both antique buyers and sellers on their site, it was time to make a change. I decided to create a website where my entire current inventory of views is available for direct purchase.

It is hoped this website will provide a venue where collectors of stereoviews can find a wide range of subjects and locales. I believe that we are the first Amazon.com style "stereoviews for sale" store on the internet. The goal is to have a site where if you "see it" you can "buy it." No e-mails back and forth to check on availability; just a "click and checkout" shopping experience.

I currently collect scarce Yellowstone images as well as the city of Charlottesville, Virginia where I reside. I also look for views by obscure local United States photographers from the period 1870-1890.
